Lukina Lukin – Managing Director
Lukina has been involved in the Lukin group of companies for 14 years. She has extensive experience in management and the practical aspects of the business. Her late husband, company founder Dinko Lukin, progressively groomed her to take full management control of the group. With the support of her Operations Manager Michael Van Doorn and excellent buyer and banking relationships, she is well placed to take the group to a new level. Lukina’s broad range of experience within the industry and her willingness to learn new skills and participate in the practical aspects of the business have earned her great respect from the group’s employees and associates.
She has a Bachelor Degree of Arts majoring in English and eight years of teaching experience in Australia and Thailand. Lukina began her career in the fishing industry with the Lukin group in 1997, performing physical tasks including extensive cleaning and maintenance of the fishing vessel D Three to bring the vessel up to the standards required for AQIS Export Permits, and in 1999 commenced working full time for the Lukin Group.
In 2000, 2001 and 2002 she went to sea on the D Three as a cook and general deckhand for the trip to the tuna grounds and the subsequent towing of tuna back to port.

Michael Van Doorn – Director
Michael’s entire working career spanning more than 30 years has been dedicated to Dinko Tuna Farmers. He began working with the company upon completing his schooling in 1984 at the age of seventeen. Michael’s professional fishing experience covers the southern bluefin tuna (SBT), sardine and prawn fisheries. His tertiary qualifications include Master Class 5 Skipper/Fishing – Marine Engineer Grade 2 – Refrigeration Endorsements.
In addition to his directorship at Dinko Tuna he has been active on various committees in the SBT and sardine fisheries, involving but not limited to research, stock assessments, training and commercial diving. Michael continues to skipper one of the company’s fleet of vessels for the SBT fishing operations and oversees the capture of its annual SBT quota. He also manages the entire SBT farming operation, ensuring the catch maximises full grow out potential.
